Risk Management In Policing: Technology
The potential for body-worn camera videos (BWCVs) to be used to identify issues in officer performance has not been fully realized. Doing so would allow true early intervention - small, non-disciplinary “course corrections” at the first opportunity.
Supervisors today are pulled in many directions. Making the time to efficiently and effectively identify and review each officer’s videos for viewing and ensuring consistency and appropriate level of scrutiny in the reviews, is not always possible. Our process can address each of these issues while at the same time guiding supervisors through appropriate review pursuant to department-set guidelines and providing a check on the performance of that function.
CUES (Compliance Utilizing Enhanced Supervision) Software
Our solution begins with our CUES software which, through a drill-down dashboard, provides the mechanism to identify those BWCVs, the means to perform review and to complete the documentation and workflow for true early intervention. CUES will alert the appropriate supervisors of any BWCV that needs to be reviewed and provide a guided review process for the supervisor to ensure consistency in quality of supervision and review.
Risk Management In Policing: Outsourcing
Outsourcing of integrity assurance tasks can serve a multitude of purposes. It can address staffing issues, by either reducing the administrative and supervisory workload on sworn personnel or performing vital processes that just aren’t getting done. It can provide a roadmap to continuous improvement. It can provide continuity and bias-free first-line assessments to best ensure true early intervention, better community confidence in the process, and a method by which supervisors themselves can be assessed.

IntegrAssure can provide trained and vetted staff to perform all or some of the reviews. Our work is strictly quality controlled and performed in accordance with standards that are developed collaboratively with a Department.
